Amy Jaworsky

Amy is the founding Partner of Island Law Office. Prior to attending law school, Amy worked in the field of law for many years as a paralegal with both large and small law firms in Toronto, the Fraser Valley and Vancouver. Amy practices in the areas of Real Estate, Wills and Estate Planning and Probate matters.

Prior to becoming a lawyer Amy operated a successful freelance paralegal business while raising her son and completing her undergraduate degree as a mature student. She continued to operate that business while completing her law degree from the University of Victoria. She obtained her law degree in 2015 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2016.

This life experience means that Amy brings a developed perspective to the practice of law, a business owner's understanding of the importance of excellent client service and the practical skills gained from many years working in law firms and with clients, all of which she will leverage to assist you with your file.

Amy is an empathetic listener who will treat you with respect, take the time to explain the steps along the way and do her very best to help you.

Amy is currently involved with the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association by volunteering with the Women Lawyers Forum and was previously involved by Chairing the Victoria Wills and Trusts Section for several years.

Hana Felix

Hana is a Partner at Island Law office since September 2022. Prior to joining with her Partner Amy-Alexandra Jaworsky, they were an associate with Crease Harman LLP. They practice mainly in Wills and Estates Planning and Litigation, Real Estate, Civil Litigation, and Administrative Law.

They regularly appear in British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, and a variety of regulatory bodies and administrative tribunals, and have assisted clients before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Hana completed both undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. In 2017, Hana immigrated to Canada and completed a Masters of Law at the University of British Columbia.

Hana is fluent in English and Czech, and has a working or conversational knowledge of French, Russian, and German.

Hana loves to travel the world and has lived in six different countries and visited over 40. Outside of the office, Hana enjoys baking, skiing, ballroom dancing, and cinema.

Stuart Wright

Stuart Wright is an Associate Counsel at Island Law Office. 

After studying in Toronto and Montreal and doing stints with the navy and a touring Beatles tribute act, Stuart obtained his JD at the University of British Columbia in 2016 and articled with a respected sole practitioner in general practice. He moved to Victoria in 2019, worked for a couple of established firms and for himself, and practices primarily in Separation and Divorce Law, Wills and Estate Planning, and Probate matters. 

Stuart served for two years on the board of Blue Bridge Theatre in Victoria and has performed in shows with Theatre Inconnu and Lawyers On Stage Theatre. He likes to cook, walk in the woods, and direct intense Shakespeare productions.

Chanelle Gilbert

Chanelle Gilbert is an Associate Counsel at Island Law Office. She focusses her practice in the areas of estate and incapacity planning, and estate administration. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in February 2020.

Originally from the Greater Vancouver area, Chanelle obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia before setting her sights on law. She obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria, where she also completed a clinical term at The Law Centre. 

Chanelle actively volunteers within the legal community, having held roles including Director of the Victoria Bar Association, and Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Canadian Bar Association. Outside of work, Chanelle may be found gardening or playing board games.

Rachael Walsh

Rachael Walsh is an Associate Counsel at Island Law Office

Rachael was born on Vancouver Island and later moved to England where she received her law degree form Plymouth University in 2012. As a student, she took an interest in the field of capital defence and began working with Amicus-ALJ assisting US attorneys in defending death penalty cases. Her final year dissertation, which discussed the constitutionality of executing non-triggerman accomplices in the US, was published in two academic journals.  Days after her graduation, Rachael embarked on an internship with the Office of Capital Defence in Jackson, Mississippi where she investigated and prepared capital murder cases for trial. In 2013, she accepted a position as Mitigation Specialist with the Georgia Capital Defender (GCD) in Athens, GA. In her time with GCD, she represented more than a dozen capital defendants, preparing their cases for the penalty phase of trial. Rachael has lectured at Universities and conferences across England and the US, including the University of Oxford and the University of Georgia, on her work as a Capital Defender and being a woman in the legal field.

After taking some time off to be a mom, she moved back to Vancouver Island with her husband and son where she worked with a local Restorative Justice program before embarking on her journey to becoming a lawyer in BC.

Rachael spends most of her spare time outdoors hiking, camping, biking, or gardening. She has competed in dozens of 5km, 10km and half marathon races across the world and plans to do a full marathon by 2030.

Daniel D.H. Lee

Daniel Lee is an Associate Counsel at Island Law Office

Daniel was born in South Korea and moved to British Columbia in 2013 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy at Quest University in Squamish. After university, Daniel took some time off to travel and eventually decided to attend law school. In 2023, he obtained his JD from the University of British Columbia, and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2024.

During law school, Daniel volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, contributed to access to justice and law reform projects at the BC Law Institute and the BC Civil Liberties Association, worked for a not-for-profit corporation where he assisted with corporate governance matters, and worked at a personal injury law firm.

After graduating from law school, Daniel articled with the Everyone Legal Clinic and moved to Victoria to start his legal career. Daniel is eager to serve the people that make this city the unique and vibrant place that it is.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys reading, basketball, rock climbing, and too many other hobbies to list.

Reyna is a Conveyancer and Legal Assistant with Island Law Office and assists our Lawyers in their respective practices.
